Deepika Padukone has voiced her concerns about a recent statement made by Larsen & Toubro’s chairman, SN Subrahmanyan. He had caused a stir by urging his employees to work for 90 hours a week, including Sundays. Deepika, who is a strong advocate for mental health, criticized Subrahmanyan for disregarding both labor laws and mental well-being. She shared a post by journalist Faye D’Souza, expressing her shock at such comments from someone in such a senior position, and wrote, “Shocking to see people in such senior positions make such statements. #MentalHealthMatters.”

This isn’t the first time a business leader has made such controversial remarks. Earlier, Infosys co-founder N. R. Narayana Murthy had also stirred debate when he suggested that young Indians should work 70 hours a week to help drive the nation’s progress.
