SSC CGL 2024 Tier-2 Exams: Important Details and Admit Card Update
The SSC CGL Tier-2 exams will take place from January 18 to 20, 2025, with Paper 1 and Paper 2 held on different days or shifts. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will release the admit cards soon, which can be downloaded from the official website, ssc.gov.in.
City Intimation Slips Released
The SSC CGL Tier-2 exam city intimation slips are already available. Candidates can download their exam city slip by logging in with their registration number and password on the SSC website. It’s important to note that the exam city slip is different from the admit card. While the admit card is necessary to enter the exam hall, the city slip simply informs candidates about the city where their exam will take place, allowing them to plan their travel.
Tier 1 and Qualification for Tier 2
The Tier-1 SSC CGL exam was held from September 9 to 26, 2024, with provisional answer keys published on October 4. Candidates had until October 8 to submit objections to the answer key. To appear for Tier-2, candidates must have passed the Tier-1 exam. This recruitment drive aims to fill 17,727 Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts across various government ministries and departments.
Admit Card Release and Steps to Download
The Tier-2 Admit Card is expected to be released on January 14, 2025. Candidates can download their admit card and Scribe’s Entry Pass (for those using a scribe) from the official website of SSC at ssc.gov.in.
To download the SSC CGL Tier 2 admit card:
- Visit the official SSC website: ssc.gov.in.
- Click on the login link and enter the required details.
- Look for the “SSC CGL Tier 2 Admit Card 2024” link on the home page.
- Click on the download link, and your admit card will be downloaded.
- Keep a printed copy of the admit card for future reference.
Number of Candidates Appearing for SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam
According to the CGL Tier 1 results, a total of 18,436 candidates have been shortlisted for the Tier 2 exam. Among them, 2,833 candidates are for the Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) post, while 1,65,240 candidates are shortlisted for other posts. The SSC CGL recruitment exam was conducted from September 9 to 26, and the answer key was released in October. Due to a delay in announcing the results, the SSC CGL Tier 2 exam, which was initially scheduled for December, has been postponed by one month.

Candidates who qualify for the Tier 2 exam will also need to pass physical and medical tests for 8 specific posts. These posts include:

- Inspector (Examiner)-CBIC
- Inspector (Preventive Officer)-CBIC
- Inspector-CBN
- Sub-Inspector-CBN, Ministry of Finance
- Sub-Inspector/Junior Intelligence Officer in NCB, MHA
- Sub-Inspector-CBI
- Sub-Inspector-NIA
