Gujarat police arrested suspected spies providing information to Pakistan

In a big success for national security, Gujarat Police arrested a man suspected of spying for Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI. The accused has been identified as Mohammad Murtaza Ali. He was caught in a raid by a joint team of Gujarat Police and Jalandhar Police in the Bhargav Camp area of Jalandhar, Punjab.
According to officials, Ali was living secretly in a rented house in Gandhi Nagar, Jalandhar, while doing espionage activities. The raid was carried out in Avtar Nagar, where the police finally arrested him. During the search, the police found four mobile phones and three SIM cards with him.
Early investigations show that Ali had developed a mobile application on his own. He used this app to upload updates from Indian news channels, which he then shared with Pakistani intelligence officers. This happened especially during a time of high tension between India and Pakistan, when Pakistan had restricted Indian news websites and TV channels.
Officials said Ali kept watching Indian news during that period and sent the information to the ISI. He even asked for a large amount of money from ISI agents in exchange for the app and the data. For the past few weeks, he was regularly giving important updates and internal news from India to Pakistan. Now, Gujarat Police have taken him for further questioning. In a separate case, another suspected spy was caught by Haryana Police in Panipat. The man, Nauman Ilahi, is 24 years old and from Kairana in Uttar Pradesh. He was working as a security guard in a factory.
As per Haryana Police and news agency PTI, Ilahi was in contact with a Pak-based ISI handler and was sharing sensitive information. His arrest came soon after the Pahalgam terror attack last month, because Haryana was already on high alert due to the recent military tension with Pakistan.
