
The teaser for Kesari Chapter 2, starring Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R. Madhavan, was released on Monday, and it has already captured the attention of many. Set against the tragic backdrop of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, the teaser promises to offer a fresh and intense take on one of the darkest chapters of Indian history. The teaser primarily features Akshay Kumar, who plays the fearless lawyer, Sir C Sankaran Nair, standing up against the British Empire.
The teaser opens in a unique and gripping way. Instead of traditional visuals, it begins with a thirty-second audio clip filled with helpless cries, shrill sounds, and gunfire, instantly building a tense and grim atmosphere. In the next frames, Akshay Kumar takes the stage as he battles the British Empire in a courtroom. When a voiceover declares, “You are still a slave to the British Empire,” Akshay Kumar silences him with just two powerful words, leaving a lasting impact.

The first part of Kesari, which was released in 2019, focused on the Battle of Saragarhi, where 21 Sikh soldiers from the 36th Sikh Regiment of the British Indian Army fought against 10,000 Afridi and Orakzai Pashtun tribesmen in 1897. On March 20, Karan Johar revealed that the director of this film had dedicated 4-5 years to the project, despite facing significant delays due to the pandemic. Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh is produced by Dharma Productions, Cape of Good Films, and Leo Media Collective, and directed by Karan Singh Tyagi. The film is set to release on April 18, 2025.

The Jallianwala Bagh Massacre
The Jallianwala Bagh massacre took place on April 13, 1919, in Amritsar, Punjab. Thousands of people had gathered at Jallianwala Bagh to protest the Rowlatt Act and the arrest of Indian leaders Saifuddin Kitchlew and Satyapal. General Dyer, with his troops, surrounded the crowd and ordered them to open fire. The massacre continued until the ammunition ran out, resulting in thousands of deaths and injuries. Kesari Chapter 2 will shine a light on this brutal and significant moment in Indian history.
