Samsung recently launched the One UI 7 Beta update for the Galaxy S24 series, introducing a new way to record videos. This update, based on Android 15, allows the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra to capture LOG (logarithmic footage) videos. According to Samsung, LOG video recording captures a wider range of light, making both dark and bright areas look better in videos. This feature was first introduced with the Galaxy S25 series in January but is now being extended to older devices, starting with the Galaxy S24 series through the One UI 7 Beta 5 update.

The One UI 7 Beta 5 update also fixes several issues, such as problems with the Now Bar, lock screen, Notification History, and more. For example, it resolves errors like the Now Bar not showing up properly, icons appearing too small on the Widget Setting screen, and issues with the Gallery Edit button not working. It also improves media playback notifications, Quick Action menu spacing, and fixes font/image overlap problems.
Samsung announced that the official One UI 7 rollout will start on April 7. This update brings a fresh, modern design with more customization options. It includes a simpler home screen, redesigned widgets, and a new lock screen. The “Now Bar” on the lock screen shows real-time updates, like workout progress or music playing on Galaxy Buds, without needing to unlock the phone. One UI 7 also introduces AI-powered features to make daily tasks easier. For example, AI Select suggests useful actions, like saving a video as a GIF. Writing Assist helps summarize or format text, while Drawing Assist allows creative inputs like text prompts, images, and sketches. Another feature, Audio Eraser, removes unwanted noise from videos by isolating different sounds.
The update also integrates Google Gemini for better device control. Users can press the side button and ask for things like, “Find nearby Italian restaurants with outdoor seating that allow pets,” and get instant suggestions. Additionally, natural language search makes it easier to navigate settings. For instance, saying, “My eyes are tired,” will bring up options like adjusting brightness or enabling Eye Comfort Shield.
One UI 7 will first roll out to the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy Tab S10 series, and Galaxy Tab S9 series, with more devices to follow in the coming weeks.
In short, One UI 7 brings a cleaner design, smarter AI tools, and better video recording features, making Galaxy devices more user-friendly and customizable.
