Priya Saroj’s Father Denies Engagement Rumors with Rinku Singh
Priya Saroj, the Lok Sabha MP from Samajwadi Party’s Father, has dismissed reports about her engagement to cricketer Rinku Singh. However, she confirmed that Rinku’s family has sent a marriage proposal, which they are seriously considering.
Proposal Discussed with Priya’s Family
According to a report by ABP Live, Priya’s father, Tufani Saroj, mentioned that Rinku’s family had discussed the marriage proposal with Priya’s elder son-in-law, who is currently working as a CJM in Aligarh.
Neither Rinku nor Priya has officially confirmed the news so far.
Rinku Singh’s Cricket Career
Rinku Singh, a regular in India’s T20I squad, was among the reserve players for the Rohit Sharma-led team that won the World Cup last year. He will be back on the field next week for a five-match T20I series against England.
The 27-year-old has played two ODIs and 30 T20Is since his debut in August 2023, accumulating 562 runs. Known for his finishing skills, Rinku represents Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL, winning the title with them last season.
Priya Saroj: A First-Time MP
Priya Saroj, 26, is a first-time MP representing Uttar Pradesh’s Macchlishahr constituency. She won the election last year by a margin of over 35,000 votes, defeating BJP’s BP Saroj. Priya’s Initial Career Aspirations
Although her father was a seasoned politician, Priya initially didn’t consider a career in politics. She studied law and had aspirations of becoming a judge. In an interview, Priya revealed that during the Covid-19 pandemic, she was preparing for judgeship exams. Even after her political ticket was announced, she continued to take online classes for the exams.
