Kohli’s Emotional Journey With Royal Challengers
For Virat Kohli, this win was not just about one season. It was the result of a journey that started back in 2008. He joined Royal Challengers as a young batsman and has become one of the biggest names in world cricket. Over the years, he and RCB have grown together.
What Experts Said About Kohli
Former Royal Challengers fast bowler Varun Aaron said:
“Kohli has been the face of RCB for 18 years. People expected him to win, and he finally did it. He hates losing, so this win is a big moment. Fans love him because he gives everything on the field.”
Tom Moody, a cricket expert, said:
“Kohli’s whole career was shaped at Royal Challengers. He joined as a young player without knowing how big he would become. That’s why he looked so emotional – he has seen all the highs and lows with this team.”
Kohli’s IPL Records
- Total Runs: 8661 in 259 innings
- Strike Rate: 132.85
- Average: 39.54
- Most Runs in a Season: 973 runs in 2016 (still a record)
- Captaincy: Led RCB in 143 matches (2011–2023), third-highest in IPL
Royal Challengers Made Kohli, and Kohli Made RCB
Virat Kohli gave his all to Royal Challengers. He rarely missed matches and always played with full passion. As Varun Aaron said:
“After Sachin Tendulkar, Kohli is the biggest Indian player. Fans see how much he puts in, and they feel he deserves this win.”
While Royal Challengers gave Kohli a stage to shine, Kohli also helped make RCB the beloved franchise it is today.
