SSC Stenographer 2025 Recruitment – Complete Details
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the SSC Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ Recruitment 2025 notification for a total of 261 posts. These vacancies will be filled in various Central Government ministries, departments, and organizations. Candidates who have passed Class 12 from a recognized board are eligible to apply for this exam. The online application process has already started, and the last date to apply is 26 June 2025 till 11 PM. The last date to pay the application fee is 27 June 2025 till 11 PM. If there is any mistake in the application form, candidates will be allowed to make corrections on 1 and 2 July 2025 by logging into the SSC website.
The computer-based exam (CBT) will be conducted between 6 August and 11 August 2025. SSC has clearly advised all applicants to avoid waiting until the last date to apply, as the website might face heavy traffic and slowdowns. The application fee is ₹100 for General and OBC candidates. However, SC, ST, PwD, and female candidates are exempted from the fee.
SSC Stenographer exam pattern includes a computer-based test with 200 multiple-choice questions, totaling 200 marks. The time duration of the exam is 2 hours. The question paper will have three sections:
- General Intelligence and Reasoning
- General Awareness
- English Language and Comprehension
There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. After qualifying the written test, candidates will be called for a Skill Test in stenography, which is mandatory for final selection.
